There are several varieties of medical gas supply stations, and each of them has its own features and applications. One type is a liquefied gas station, which supplies various types of medical gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and others. There are also compressed gas stations that provide gas supply in compressed form.
Compressed gas stations supply medical gases in compressed form, usually in cylinders. They can be used to supply various gases, such as nitrogen, helium, or gas mixtures, and guarantee their safe supply to medical devices and systems.
Such stations can work on various compressors:
In particular, screw compressors in medical gas supply stations can additionally have receivers ‒ in this case, the equipment has a higher energy efficiency indicator. There are also compressor models with additional components: an air dryer, filters, and an air preparation system.
These varieties of stations make it possible to efficiently and safely provide medical institutions with the gases necessary for the treatment of patients.
AIRPOL compressor stations based on screw or scroll compressors are distinguished by high reliability and safety and are specially designed to provide hospital departments with compressed medical air.
A compressor station contains the following components:
According to ISO 7396-1, in medical institutions, networks of vital gases must be duplicated, and it is necessary to install a compressor station consisting of 3 compressors. Installation in a separate room equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation, which operates continuously, in an oxygen point/annex to the hospital building/in a separate room on the 1st floor of the hospital/in a separate room on the technical floor of the hospital.

Medical compressor stations are specialized installations used in medical institutions to supply compressed air or medical gases (oxygen, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, etc.) to equipment or patients. They provide a stable pressure and flow of gases necessary for the operation of medical devices, such as artificial lung ventilation apparatuses, anesthesia-respiratory apparatuses, and other medical systems. Compressor stations usually include a filtration system, automatic pressure regulation, and monitoring to ensure the safety and efficiency of the use of gases for medical purposes.
The main functions of medical compressor stations in hospitals are to provide a continuous supply of compressed air or medical gases (oxygen, nitrogen, compressed air) for medical needs. They are used to ventilate patients, power medical equipment (artificial lungs, anesthetic machines), as well as to provide pressure in oxygen and vacuum supply systems. Compressor stations guarantee a safe, efficient, and stable gas supply at all stages of the treatment process.
Medical compressor stations provide a continuous and reliable supply of compressed air for medical institutions. The main advantages of their use include:
There are several types of medical compressor stations that differ in purpose, design, and functional capabilities:
When choosing a medical compressor station for a hospital or clinic, it is important to consider several factors: capacity (depending on the number of patients and equipment), reliability and safety (quality certificates and compliance with standards), noise level (for comfortable working conditions), energy efficiency (to reduce energy costs), and the possibility of maintenance service. You should also pay attention to the type of compressor and additional functions, such as automatic control or backup systems.
